Maureen Moffatt had been a doubtful starter

Second placed female finisher, Maureen Moffatt, was lucky to start, as she fell extremely heavily on the Thursday of TT race week while out training. She tripped coming down from Maughold into Ramsey, smashing her knees, hands and face on the pavement. Her right knee took the brunt of the fall and swelled up to about three times its normal size and this restricted her to just one more walk prior to Saturday.

She was one of many walkers to suffer from sickness on Saturday and thanked Andrew Titley and his supporters for getting her around.
